There have been numerous fan theories taking over the internet after Infinity war. What will happen to Tony? Will anyone defeat Thanos or will he stay on top? Here are the top ten Endgame theories on the internet so far.
10) Nebula defeats Thanos
The theory that Nebula defeats Thanos is an interesting one. One the one hand, she has been tortured by him her whole life, and has dreamed of murdering him for years. However, it doesn’t seem like the Russo Brothers would have anyone taking down Thanos singlehandedly. Nebula might not get her revenge wish granted.
9) Scott Lang is Loki
This has to be one of the most popular theories on the internet at the moment, and one that I support wholeheartedly. After Loki got his neck snapped by Thanos at the beginning of Infinity war, it made the hearts of many Loki fans break, including mine. Others resorted to considering ways that he could have survived. After all, he’s done it before, hasn’t he?
At the part in the Endgame trailer when Scott Lang turns up at the Avengers headquarters, Loki fans everywhere felt a collective sense of excitement, as he demonstrated the same gesture that Loki had shown many times in previous movies. Could it be that the god of mischief survived once again?
8) Hawkeye’s family got snapped
This is probably one of the saddest theories that haunts the internet at the moment. This would fully explain why Clint decided to return in Avengers:Endgame, after his retirement.
His family is one of the most important things to him. Fury even set up a country house for him so he and his wife could live in secret with their kids. If this turns out to be true, you better get your tissue box handy. This would be one of the saddest moments of the film.
7) Steve is going to die.
Another excruciatingly emotional moment if this does happen. Steve has sacrificed so much to save the people that he loves. Peggy died in Civil War, and now Bucky has gone, as a result of the ‘snap’.
The thing that has clued the fans in on this moment, is when Steve takes or his photo of Peggy, during the Endgame trailer. The last time he did that, was when he crashed that plane during the war. We don’t know what Steve has planned for the Endgame, but if this theory is correct, it will mean heartbreak for the whole Marvel fandom.
6)The movie ends with Pepper and Tony’s wedding
On a happier note, many Marvel fanatics (well, the optimistic ones anyway) believe that everything will end well, and Tony and Pepper will finally tie the knot.
Tony Stark and Pepper Potts are one of the main MCU ships (well, of the ones that actually exist) and it would be great for them get their happy ending after everything they have been through. To see them reunited at the end of the film, for this truly delightful event, will bring happy tears to even the most impassive critics.
5) Tony Stark sacrifices himself to save the universe
This is probably the theory that has the biggest chance of coming true.
After the Chitauri invaded New York City, Tony flew an explosive through a wormhole to space to attack the mothership. He knew that his life was on the line, and he was prepared to die to save everyone.
Now the events of Infinity war led to the disappearance (we will NOT say death. It cannot be true…) of Peter Parker, his “son” (as many people have described them as on social media sites). That would have left him shook. Without a doubt, he would sacrifice himself again to prevent anything like that from happening again to the people he loves.
4) Shuri did NOT survive the snap.
I hate to burst the bubble of the theories that Shuri is still around, but there is a very clear clue that she suffered from the ‘snap’ as well.
In the trailer, there is a moment where there’s screen that shows missing heroes, and Shuri’s face appears on it. We desperately didn’t want it to be true, but this is the one theory that has any definite proof that can be used to confirm it. Now we can only hope that our princess of Wakanda comes back safe and ready to fight.
3) Thanos teams up with the Avengers
Now, this is a very confusing theory, that isn’t very well thought out. Not only is Thanos the antagonist who has killed/ ‘snapped’ a lot of the heroes, but there is no remorse for anyone apart from Gamora. Furthermore, Thanos has just achieved his life’s goal, and it isn’t likely that he would just give that all up for a sudden blast of moral integrity. Plus, who would they be teaming up against? It really makes no sense.
This will not be happening any soon.
2)Pepper Potts will be the one to save Tony from space
This theory has some evidence to support it. The photo above shows Gwyneth Paltrow in what seems like an Iron Man suit. As well as this, in the comics, Pepper recieves her own suit called Rescue. This seems like pretty strong evidence that Pepper will rescue Tony and save his life.
And finally, number 1…
Captain America will face Red Skull again, one way or another
This is possibly my favourite theory so far.
As a big supporter of Captain America: The First Avenger, Red Skull was a big part of the movie plot. When he returned in Avengers: Infinity War (guarding the soul stone), fans everywhere were shaking with excitement.
Whether Captain America goes back in time to face him from the very beginning, or whether he faces him in current time doesn’t matter. If the showdown takes place, it’s bound to be exciting.
